About the owner

I began working in the construction trades at the age of 19. I worked as a laborer, a rough and finish carpenter and at many other on-site jobs. I got my Michigan Builder's License and started John McCarter Construction in 1991, building on my hands-on experience and my desire to create a high-quality company.

My company has grown over the years to include multiple carpentry crews, a paint crew, an exterior service department and a full-time office and production staff. We own a beautiful showroom in downtown South Lyon. One thing that hasn't changed over the years is my commitment to quality. My name is on every job and I personally stand behind the work we do.

We are fully licensed and insured, our employees are trained and certified, and I put my own name on every job. That's why I can say with confidence, "You can trust your home to us."

What to expect

Your first experience with our company will probably be with one of our office staff members. Whether you stop in or give us a call one of our friendly, professional staff will help you set an appointment for a free, in-home estimate. Then one of our knowledgeable salespeople will help you explore all your design options. He will guide you in determining the best way to accomplish your home improvement goals.

Once that process is complete we can help you arrange financing, if necessary. Your project then is turned over to our capable and experienced production manager. He will get your job scheduled and assign the right crews to get your job done. You will be assigned a project manager who will be on your site each day and can address any of your questions and concerns right away.

It is our goal to make sure you are 100% satisfied and your input is important to us. We will not leave your job until you do a final walk-through with your project manager and verify that the work has been completed to our high standards.

Our Team

Office Manager: Brianne Chase

John McCarter Construction welcomed Brianne to the team in August 2010. Brianne brought with her nearly 10 years of Administrative experience. Born and raised in South Lyon, and a graduate of South Lyon High School, Brianne maintains great pride in the community and the Metro Detroit area. Brianne's focus on customer satisfaction and attention to detail provide the office and customer's with a constant peace of mind. When Brianne is not hard at work in the office she enjoys spending time outdoors, running and reading

 

 

Senior Project Consultant: Steve Witkowski

Steve was born and raised in Detroit and now resides in Canton with his wife and four children. He brings 25 years of sales and marketing experience to John McCarter Construction. Steve has always placed emphasis on customer service and is focused on listening to the customer's wants and needs. Steve has been nominated by the Certified Contractors Network as Salesperson of the Year for his knowledge, attentiveness and problem solving skills which enable him to provide a complete creative solution for the customer. Steve enjoys spending his spare time on the golf course, playing cards, following sports, and enjoying time with his family.

 

Senior Production Manager: Kevin Wilner

Kevin joined John McCarter Construction as our Senior Production Manager in the spring of 2010. He has been a part of the construction/remodeling industry for over 15 years. Kevin's attention to detail, efficiency, and problem solving skills make him both an asset to the company and our customers. When Kevin is not hard at work he enjoys spending time with his two young children. Kevin has a passion for making customer dreams a reality and his dependability and enthusiasm provide his customers with the satisfaction and security of knowing he has their best interest in mind.

 

Paint Crew & Service Department Manager: Dennis Griffin

Dennis has worked in residential remodeling for over 35 years and brought with him his extensive experience and skills when he joined John McCarter Construction in 2006. Dennis is John McCarter Construction's Paint Crew Manager and takes great pride in finding solutions for his customers problems. When he is not at work, Dennis enjoys working on home projects with his wife, listening to music, and spending time outdoors.

 

Project Manager: Brandon Maike

Brandon has been working with John McCarter Construction since 2008. He has over 15 years of experience as a crew leader in the siding and remodeling industry. Brandon is a James Hardie Factory Trained and Certified Installer and supervises the day to day operations of your project from the initial walkthrough to completion. Brandon's work can be defined as thorough and meticulous, and he expects the same from his crew. Brandon is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending much of his free time up north.

 

Siding Crew Foreman: Jake Champlin

Jake joined the John McCarter Construction team in the spring of 2010 and brought with him over 15 years of experience. He has worked extensively in the residential construction industry and is a James Hardie Factory Trained and Certified Installer. Jake manages his installation crew to ensure that the project progresses efficiently and his customers are totally satisfied. When Jake is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first child!
